Living History

IMG_2818_edited.jpg
159 Sutton Street on the West Side of Providence, R.I. was built in 1875 in the Second Empire style. It is known as the Barnaby Castle Carriage House. A non-commercial Pop-Up/Gallery space on the ground floor operated from 2015-2022. It now continues in that spirit plus offering Sound Healing, healing movement classes/workshops; a 2nd floor short term residential rental; and event/location rental.

The carriage house and main house (aka the Barnaby Castle) were designed by Stone & Carpenter for Jerothmal B. Barnaby and his family.

Clip Clop 5-10-2024.jpeg

Clip Clop, a Providence-based band, plays all original music inspired by classic duetists of old-school country and western such as George Jones and Tammy Wynette, Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton, and Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn. Their music wouldn’t be out of place back in the day, when the bars were smoky and the jukeboxes played 45s.

Mark Dunkelman, pedal steel guitar, dobro, and vocals; Scott Stenhouse, guitar and vocals; Russ Sasnett, guitar; Hiatt Knapp, bass; and Zoe Bleed and Lara Mollin, vocals.

The singers are both RISD seniors, Zoe a sculptor and Lara a painter.

Our Classes

Peaked Hill Studio was established on Martha's Vineyard in 2013 and has been offering classes centered on pro-active healing from movement to Sound Healing and more. We welcome anyone who is interested in offering healing-based workshops or classes to contact us. Studio owner Valerie Sonnenthal offers biomechanically-based yoga, a therapeutic practice that works from the joints to create mobility, resets your nervous system and diminish pain. Valerie, a core Rev6 instructor, looks forward to introducing a practice that "will help you build muscle as you revitalize your fascia, regenerate your nervous system, and tune up your brain."

Pat Higgins, with over 30 years of experience, will teach Qigong. Check for monthly Restorative Sound Journeys.
